Chapter 23: How Long Does Brother Want to Hold Me?
Before Niannian could respond, Su Yanheng spoke up for him: "I've never seen you this close to Big Brother or Second Brother before."
Su Yanheng sighed. "Now I understand, it's just that your Second Brother and I aren't worthy, huh?"
Just like before, Ji Suize ignored him, refusing to take the bait. His gaze remained fixed on Niannian's face, stubbornly waiting for a satisfactory answer.
[Su Yanheng, did you ever consider that your little brother might not actually want you speaking up for him?]

After struggling internally, Niannian still couldn’t come up with an answer, so he simply asked the person in question: "How does Brother want to hold me?"

Niannian: "How long does Brother want to hold me each time?"

Niannian let out a breath and agreed readily this time: "Okay."

The three of them walked home under the shadow of the setting sun. Dinner had been prepared in advance.
Niannian had spent the day either being carried or sitting, hardly walking at all. But a child’s energy is limited, his excitement and stamina had been exhausted during the activities earlier. Now, even holding a spoon was an effort.
Su Yanheng found it amusing and wanted to feed him, but Niannian refused: "Brother has been tired all day and must be hungry too. Brother should eat quickly. I can feed myself."
Su Yanheng: "Feeding you won’t take much time."
Niannian insisted: "I don’t want Brother to feed me. Brother eats, and I’ll eat too."
In the past, Niannian would never have refused Su Yanheng. He had always portrayed himself as an obedient child, listening to whatever the adults said. But in truth, he wasn’t as compliant as he appeared, he had his own ideas too.
After receiving the unprecedented care from Su Yanheng, he had begun to learn how to "resist and refuse," gaining the courage to voice his own opinions.
"Brother, eat quickly." Niannian grabbed a piece of rice cake and stuffed it into Su Yanheng’s mouth.
Su Yanheng’s front teeth bumped firmly against the rice cake. Amused, he grabbed the half of the cake still sticking out and mumbled: "Alright, alright, Brother will eat."

Niannian had almost no strength left. His hand trembled as he held the spoon, taking several seconds to bring a single spoonful of rice to his mouth.
Su Yanheng watched with amusement, planning to enjoy the adorable sight a little longer before stepping in to help.
Suddenly, Ji Suize hopped down from his chair and sat beside Niannian. Without a word, he snatched the spoon from Niannian’s hand, scooped up a spoonful of rice mixed with meat, and brought it to Niannian’s lips.
Niannian repeated his usual line: "Brother, I can eat by myself. You should go eat your dinner."
Ji Suize grabbed a piece of rice cake and took a bite, then once again brought the spoon to Niannian’s lips, the meaning was clear:
I’m eating, so now you can accept my feeding.
When food is brought right to your mouth, what reason is there not to eat it?
Niannian opened his mouth and ate it, preparing to urge Ji Suize to eat his own food. Before he could speak, Ji Suize took another bite of rice cake right in front of him, then picked up his spoon and scooped another spoonful of rice, bringing it to his lips again.
This completely blocked any chance for him to refuse.
Niannian had no choice but to eat what Ji Suize fed him.
Watching Ji Suize take another bite of rice cake, Niannian asked, “Big Brother, are you only eating rice cake?”
Ji Suize: “Do you want me to eat something else?”
Niannian: “Eating only rice cake isn’t nutritious.”
Ji Suize: “Then what do you want me to eat?”
Niannian tossed the question back: “What does Big Brother most want to eat?”
Ji Suize: “Whatever you want me to eat.”
Niannian: “...”

Niannian scanned the table and pointed at the braised chicken wings: “Big Brother, eat this.”
Ji Suize obediently picked up a chicken wing and put it in his mouth. He didn’t rush to eat it, though, instead, he fed Niannian another bite.
Su Yanheng was easy to negotiate with, but Ji Suize, while seemingly gentle, was more stubborn than anyone. Knowing he couldn’t win against Ji Suize, Niannian didn’t want to waste his breath and accepted the feeding.
The two of them took turns feeding each other, making sure neither went hungry, and it didn’t take much time at all.
After finishing the meal and resting for a while, the nanny carried Niannian off for a bath. The camera in the bathroom was covered, and the sound was muted, but the livestream didn’t lose viewers, in fact, the number steadily increased.
Su Yanheng’s livestream also had multiple camera angles, mainly focused on Su Yanheng and Niannian, but most viewers weren’t there for Su Yanheng, they were there for Niannian.
While Niannian was bathing, these viewers didn’t switch over to Su Yanheng’s channel but continued to wait in Niannian’s stream.
The camera shifted to Niannian’s bedroom, where Ji Suize quietly appeared. He had changed into yellow pajamas, his hair still damp at the ends, clearly, he had just finished bathing.
He walked straight to the bathroom door, sat down in a chair beside it, opened a book he had brought with him, and began reading.
