OCY - Chapter 20

Chapter 20, Horror Movie

The sky gradually darkened. After soaking in the hot springs, the group went to the lounge area for a buffet.

Ji Linxue picked some vegetables and fruits, from afar, his plate looked entirely green, with only a few strawberries scattered in the middle.

"Not having any main course?"

Gu Hengzhi's voice came from beside him.

Ji Linxue shook his head, "Not hungry."

Shen Shaoyan rested his chin in his hands, complaining mournfully, "Heng Ge, why don't you ever care about me?"

Lu Yu, "Even several oxen don't eat as much as you do. Look at the meat on your plate before you talk."

Shen Shaoyan, "How can you even say that about me? Why don't you look at your own plate?"

The two started arguing again. Ji Linxue gradually got used to their way of interacting and quietly ate his food with his head down.

When they left the club, it was already completely dark outside.

The four took the Shen family's car back. Because it was so late, Shen Shaoyan didn't go home and chose to stay in the dorm instead.

It was a rare opportunity for them to gather on a weekend, so Shen Shaoyan wasn't willing to go to bed so early and suggested they watch a ghost movie together.

Lu Yu was very interested in ghost movies and naturally agreed. Gu Hengzhi and Ji Linxue didn't want to spoil their fun, so they also agreed.

Shen Shaoyan quickly found a horror movie online with good reviews and high ratings. So the four turned off the lights and sat in front of the computer.

To set the mood, the movie began with a misty, terrifying scene. As the camera panned, a dilapidated and decaying village appeared on screen.

A few seconds later, a group of young men and women in casual clothes walked into the frame, laughing and talking. They walked along a deserted winding path, their faces betraying a naive innocence.

"I have a premonition that something bad is definitely going to happen to them."

Lu Yu gave Shen Shaoyan a speechless look, "No kidding, aren't those them on the movie poster?"

The scene on the computer continued. The young people entered the village, finding all the doors tightly shut. Only an old woman welcomed them.

They planned to stay in the village for a week, but strange things kept happening.

A bloody head appearing at midnight, only to disappear the next day...

As the story unfolded, the plot gradually reached its climax.

Shen Shaoyan tightly hugged Lu Yu's waist, clinging to him, only peeking out through a gap with one eye.

Lu Yu turned his face to face the screen directly, "So timid, yet you love watching."

Shen Shaoyan yanked his head back, his voice trembling, "That pair of feet suddenly appeared just now, it scared me to death, okay! Aren't you scared?"

He then looked at Gu Hengzhi and Ji Linxue beside him. They were sitting upright, expressionless, showing no sign of fear at all.

Shen Shaoyan turned his head and burrowed into Lu Yu's arms, "I don't care, I'm watching like this."

Lu Yu looked disgusted, "Try snuggling one more time? Don't gross me out."

Shen Shaoyan, fearing he would really throw him out, quickly stopped moving and refocused his attention on the screen.

An hour later, the movie ended.

Shen Shaoyan sighed in relief, "I told you! I knew there were no ghosts, it was just that guy messing around!"

Lu Yu's mouth twitched, "I wonder who was so scared they clung to me."

Shen Shaoyan snorted, "It definitely wasn't me."

He then looked at Gu Hengzhi, finding him sitting motionless, and leaned over, "Heng Ge, how about it? You weren't scared either, right?"

Gu Hengzhi seemed to only just react, turning his head to glance at him, "What?"

As soon as he spoke, he felt his left shoulder lighten. Ji Linxue lifted his head, rubbing his eyes dazedly.

Shen Shaoyan's eyes widened in disbelief, "Holy moly! Xiaoxue, you actually fell asleep?"

He was scared out of his wits, and now he's being told someone fell asleep while watching?

"Sorry, I was too tired," Ji Linxue's voice was a little hoarse, clearly not fully awake yet.

They had been out all day today, and it was already ten o'clock when they returned to the dorm. Shen Shaoyan then said he wanted to watch a movie. Usually, Ji Linxue would already be asleep by this time, so he started to feel too sleepy to keep up halfway through.

Noticing his head nodding, Gu Hengzhi gently supported the side of his ear, letting him rest his head on his shoulder.

"Sleep."

With a secure support for his head, Ji Linxue quickly fell into a deep sleep.

"No wonder Heng Ge sat like a wooden statue all night," Shen Shaoyan crossed his arms. "Turns out he was covering for you."

Ji Linxue looked at Gu Hengzhi, smiling, "You really went through a lot of trouble."

"It's fine." Gu Hengzhi stood up. "I'm going to the bathroom."

Ji Linxue also stood up.

After they left, Lu Yu yawned, "I'm tired, I'm going to bed first."

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't be in such a hurry," Shen Shaoyan pulled him. "It's still early."

Lu Yu pointed at the clock face, "It's almost one, still early?"

Shen Shaoyan smiled meaningfully, "There's still something good we haven't watched."

Lu Yu, "?"

When Gu Hengzhi came out of the bathroom, he saw Ji Linxue standing on the balcony, enduring the cold wind. Moonlight spilled from above his head, his profile delicate and aloof, looking like an angel, holy and striking.

He walked over, looking at the other's somewhat tired eyes, "If you're sleepy, go to bed. Standing here will only make you more awake."

Ji Linxue shook his head.

Sensing he had something to say, Gu Hengzhi stood still, silently waiting for him to continue.

A few seconds later, the boy's clear voice drifted into his ears with the night wind, "I'm sorry."

Gu Hengzhi hadn't expected him to say that, and his face showed a hint of bewilderment, "Why are you suddenly apologizing to me?"

"Regarding Gu Zixi, I didn't think it through properly," Ji Linxue frowned, his expression vexed.

That time in the hot spring resort's garden, he was only focused on extracting the truth from Gu Zixi's mouth, but he neglected Gu Hengzhi's feelings.

Even though he had reminded him earlier to stay away from Gu Zixi.

Gu Hengzhi's eyes didn't change, "It's been so long since then. You don't need to apologize to me, and I didn't take it to heart at all."

Seeing Ji Linxue still frowning, he reached out and rubbed the head he had long coveted. The hair in his palm was indeed as soft and smooth as he imagined. Gu Hengzhi curved his lips, "Alright, don't overthink it. It's windy outside, let's go in."

Since he said so, Ji Linxue no longer dwelled on it, "Okay."

After going inside, he first went to the bathroom to wash his face. Just a wall away, Gu Hengzhi was being pestered by Shen Shaoyan, "Heng Ge, you can't sleep! We haven't finished watching yet!"

Gu Hengzhi suppressed the urge to hit him, "What time is it now? What else do you have to watch?"

"Not a horror movie, let's watch something exciting," Shen Shaoyan blinked.

Gu Hengzhi shook off his hand, "If you want to watch, watch by yourself."

Shen Shaoyan, whose mind wasn't usually very quick, suddenly remembered something, "Xiaoxue will watch with us too."

Behind him, Lu Yu raised an eyebrow slightly. Oh, he's learned to be smart this time.

Gu Hengzhi, "?"

"He agreed?"

Shen Shaoyan nodded seriously, "Of course!"

Gu Hengzhi sat back down on the stool, "Then let's watch."

Shen Shaoyan had only tried this as a test, not expecting it to actually succeed. He clenched his fist, and when Ji Linxue came out, he quickly ran up and whispered something to him.

Ji Linxue was much easier to talk to than Gu Hengzhi. Shen Shaoyan hadn't even needed to use his persistent tactics, and the other party had agreed.

The four sat down in front of the computer again.

Shen Shaoyan turned his back to them, fiddling with the computer in front of him, completely blocking the screen.

Gu Hengzhi was a little impatient, "How much longer?"

Ji Linxue had just yawned again, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Almost, almost," Shen Shaoyan pressed enter, then stepped back and sat down. "Alright."

The screen began to play. This time it was indoors, a cozily decorated living room. There was no one in the scene. With a doorbell chime, a man and a woman walked in and sat on the sofa.

Gu Hengzhi was uninterested. He turned his head, looking at Ji Linxue's profile.

"If you're sleepy, lean on me and sleep later."

Ji Linxue hummed in agreement.

Their voices weren't lowered at all. Shen Shaoyan heard them clearly and snorted in his heart, *Let's see how you'll be able to sleep later.*

On the screen, the man took out a go board from the room, opened it, and placed it on the table.

He and the woman began to converse, speaking in Japanese.

Gu Hengzhi frowned, "Japanese horror movie?"

Shen Shaoyan looked at him innocently, with an attitude of "if you say so."

Lu Yu also remained silent.

Gu Hengzhi could only continue watching. The two on screen had already started playing go, but the camera didn't focus on the game. Instead, it kept filming various details.

For example, the woman's constantly rubbing legs, and the man's frequent sips of water.

After one game, the woman said, without any surprise, "Ah, I lost."

Her tone wasn't disappointed, rather, it was tinged with a subtle excitement.

Of the four present, half were anticipating something, and half were utterly confused.

Gu Hengzhi and Ji Linxue were the confused ones.

The next second, the woman in the movie gave them the answer.

She took off her jacket, her white shirt outlining her taut figure, "Teacher, can you teach me?"

The man stood up. He swallowed, his eyes filled with impatient desire, "Of course."

The woman smiled shyly, her fingers resting on the top button of her shirt, subtly unbuttoning it, alluring and captivating.

The first button came undone, followed by the second, then the third.

Bang!

Gu Hengzhi abruptly stood up, startling the other three.

His face was stormy, "What is this?"

Shen Shaoyan was bewildered by him, "Heng Ge, why are you making such a fuss? You haven't seen the ones I sent you, have you?"

Ji Linxue also looked over.

Under his gaze, Gu Hengzhi felt utterly mortified. He blustered, "Of course I've seen them."

As if to cover his embarrassment, he lightly coughed, "Don't you have a girlfriend? And you still watch these?"

Actually, he watched them very rarely. The only few times were when Shen Shaoyan sent them, and he couldn't watch for more than a few minutes.

For no other reason, it was simply too dirty.

"Who says you can't watch just because you have a girlfriend?" Shen Shaoyan said righteously. "Besides, I'm still a virgin. I have to resolve some personal needs, right?"

Ji Linxue covered his smile with his fist.

It was ironic, but despite Shen Shaoyan constantly having girlfriends, he was still a virgin.

Because he was a main character and a minor, the author had set their intimate scenes to occur after they turned eighteen.

Not just him, but Gu Hengzhi, as the male lead, was also in the same situation.
