RMHU - Chapter 76

"Since we've been given a second chance, of course I want to live my own life, far away from all those rotten people in the past," Shen Mianyin said bluntly. "You, Su Yiqing, the Su family, all far away."

Gu Luoan took two steps back. Originally, he thought that in this life, Shen Mianyin knew nothing, and he could start over with her.

But she knew everything.

She knew everything he had done.

Even Gu Luoan didn't have the face to say anything about starting over with Shen Mianyin.

"What if I change?" Gu Luoan asked as a final struggle. "I'll change everything, and from now on I'll only be wholeheartedly good to you."

Shen Mianyin scoffed, she was too lazy to say more to Gu Luoan.

Even if you wear out your lips talking, Gu Luo'an will still have a whole bunch of his own reasons and won't think he's wrong.

He'll change?

He's been reborn for so long, has he changed?

Isn't he still using the excuse of making amends to Su Yiqing on her behalf?

Fuck that!

She's not guilty, she doesn't need amends, and she especially doesn't need him placing fabricated charges on her.

"Whether you change or not has nothing to do with me," Shen Mianyin said. "Don't you understand? I just want to have absolutely nothing to do with you."

"If you don't leave right now, I'll ask the nurse to call security," Shen Mianyin said finally.

Gu Luoan's mind was in turmoil. He nodded blankly, for once not continuing to pester her, and left the room, his soul seemingly lost.

When he opened the door, Gu Huaizhi was standing at the doorway.

Gu Huaizhi walked in without saying a word. Shen Chenggang didn't follow but left the space to the two of them.

As soon as Gu Huaizhi entered, Shen Mianyin jumped out of bed and directly hugged Gu Huaizhi, burying herself entirely in his arms.

She hugged him very tightly, as if it wasn't tight enough, she added more force.

However, her little bit of strength was nothing to Gu Huaizhi.

Gu Huaizhi picked her up and placed her on the bed "What nonsense did he say?"

Shen Mianyin shook her head: "I tried one more time, to explain everything clearly to him. All the things I was too lazy to tell him before, I told him this time, hoping he will really give up this time."

"Okay," Gu Huaizhi hugged her back. "It's alright now."

Since there were no problems with Shen Mianyin's health, she was discharged from the hospital.

Gu Huaizhi came to pick her up, while Shen Chenggang went home first.

On Saturday, Shen Chenggang waited for Shen Mianyin at the entrance of Lizhi Garden.

After Shen Mianyin came out, she called a car, and together with Shen Chenggang, they went to the Shen family home.

The Shen family were locals in the capital. Although their financial condition was not good, they were fortunate to have an old house passed down from the previous generation.

In the capital, where living expenses were high, having a place to live was a blessing.

The Shen family lived in a typical old, dilapidated, and small apartment. After parking the car downstairs, Shen Chenggang was a little embarrassed: "The environment here is a bit poor."

"Even so, having a house in the capital to live in will reduce some pressure," Shen Mianyin said, showing no sign of disdain.

"Yeah," Shen Chenggang scratched his head. If it wasn't for treating Su Yiqing's illness, their family wouldn't have to spend money so lavishly, and they could still live quite comfortably.

"The old building doesn't have an elevator. The government once sent people to survey opinions on whether or not to install an external elevator," Shen Chenggang said as they went upstairs. "There are many elderly people living here, and climbing stairs is a bit tiring. But because there are so many elderly people and they are thrifty, they would rather climb stairs than install an elevator, so the matter was dropped."

"But our family is fine. We're on the third floor, which is just right in the middle," Shen Chenggang said with a smile. "The floor isn't high, so it's not too tiring to climb."

"The main complaints are from those living on the sixth and first or second floors. Those on the first or second floors think that installing an elevator is unnecessary for them, but they still have to share the cost, which is really not worth it. Those on the sixth floor want to install one, but since there are few people who agree, they can't install it, and they are also angry," Shen Chenggang explained as they reached the third floor.

Shen Chenggang took out his keys and opened the outer security door.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw his mother waiting at the door.

Only, her health was poor, and her figure was so thin that she was practically skin and bones. She was wearing her old clothes, which hung loosely on her.

Her face not only lacked flesh but also had no color, and she looked very ill.

"Mom, why are you out of bed?" Shen Chenggang quickly went over to support his mother. "The doctor said you should rest well."

"A few steps is still okay," Shen mother said, her gaze fixed on Shen Mianyin's face. "You are... Mianyin..."

"Mom," Shen Mianyin called out.

Shen mother's tears flowed down uncontrollably.

"I... I can..." Shen mother cautiously reached out her hand, but dared not touch Shen Mianyin.

Seeing this, Shen Mianyin took the initiative to hold Shen mother's hand.

In her previous life, Shen Mianyin was a lonely person until her death.

She never thought that she would have a family in this life.

Shen Mianyin helped Shen mother sit down.

"I don't know much about your illness, so I didn't dare to buy any supplements," Shen Mianyin said. "I just bought some daily necessities."

Things like rice, flour, oil, and fruits, as well as a lot of meat.

Since the Shen family's financial situation was not good, it was most basic to eat well daily.

"No need, you don't have to buy anything," Shen mother said hurriedly.

"Although I'm not exactly rich now, I can afford your treatment," Shen Mianyin said. "Let's not delay. Let's go to the hospital now for a thorough examination and listen to what the doctor says. We'll do whatever treatment is needed."

Shen Mianyin hadn't expressed her intentions to Shen Chenggang before, and she wanted to come to the Shen family to see what the situation was like.

But seeing Shen mother's appearance was enough to explain everything.

So without even sitting down for long, Shen Mianyin was ready to take Shen mother to the hospital.

Shen Chenggang hurriedly said, "Mianyin, I brought you back just to see Mom, I didn't mean to ask you for money."

"Since we're family, there's no need to be so clear-cut. Besides, can I just watch Mom get sick like this and do nothing?" Shen Mianyin said. "Besides, it's not like I won't do anything at all."

"Didn't you say you're delivering food? Whatever job you can do, just continue to do it," Shen Mianyin said. "I'll only be responsible for Mom's illness."

However, Shen mother's illness was the biggest financial burden on the Shen family.

With Shen Mianyin taking responsibility, the Shen family's pressure immediately decreased by 90%.

"You can continue delivering food as usual, and I'll find a caregiver to look after Mom," Shen Mianyin said.

"Why do we need a caregiver? There's no need," Shen mother said hurriedly.

Shen Chenggang also said, "Yeah, when I deliver food, I can drop by and bring food to Mom, and I can be with her when I get home at night."

"Let's listen to the doctor's judgment first. Mom is so weak now that she doesn't even have the strength to walk a few more steps. At least in the short term, she needs someone to take care of her," Shen Mianyin said.
