"No need," Shen Mianyin said, crouching down to pick up the photo of her dog. She softly addressed the photo of the Su matriarch, "I’m sorry, I have to leave."
Carefully placing the photo of the Su matriarch back into the box, she stood up, only taking the photo of her dog. "I’ll take just this. Let’s go."
Lin Jinshen nodded, protectively guiding Shen Mianyin out.
Su Yiqing glared at Shen Mianyin in resentment, while the onlookers slowly dispersed.

The CEO of Jincheng Group had personally come to pick her up.
Shen Mianyin got into the car with Lin Jinshen and fastened her seatbelt. Turning to him, she expressed her gratitude, "Thank you. If it weren't for you stepping in, I would have left in a very embarrassing way."
"I was really worried about losing such a talented person, so I came to block the way," Lin Jinshen replied with a smile.
Lin Jinshen instructed the driver to start the car.
They arrived at Jincheng Group.
Lin Jinshen personally accompanied Shen Mianyin to complete the onboarding process and introduced her to various departments. After that, he took her to the director's office.

"By the way, there’s an industry cocktail party tomorrow night. You should come with me," Lin Jinshen paused for a moment before adding, "But the Su family and Gu Luoan will likely be there. Is that alright with you?"

"Alright," Lin Jinshen nodded. "I knew you wouldn't have any problem."
Since it was a cocktail party, she needed to prepare an appropriate outfit.
The clothes she brought from the Su family were limited, mostly casual wear.

After dinner, they went shopping for a suitable dress for the cocktail party.

Su Yiqing was holding Gu Luoan’s arm, looking uneasy as she said, "Luoan, this is my first time attending such a formal cocktail party. I’m not sure if I’ll embarrass myself."

Taking the opportunity, Su Mother said, "Luoan, I’m leaving Yiqing in your care tonight. Your uncle and I will be socializing with others, so we may not be able to pay much attention to her."
"Don’t worry, Auntie," Gu Luoan responded.
Su Mother quickly pulled Su Father away, leaving Su Yiqing and Gu Luoan some space.
Suddenly, Su Yiqing glanced at the entrance of the cocktail party and said, "Isn't that Sister Shen? And... is that Lin Jinshen beside her?"
Before she could say more, Gu Luoan recognized them as well.
"Yesterday, it was Lin Jinshen who personally came to the company to pick up Sister Shen," Su Yiqing continued, noticing the increasingly grim expression on Gu Luoan's face. She tightened her grip on his arm and added, "I didn't expect their relationship to be this close. Today, Sister Shen is even attending the cocktail party with him."
"They're close?" Gu Luoan narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixed on Shen Mianyin's face. Without turning his head, he asked.
"I'm not too sure either, but yesterday the company employees were all speculating about their relationship. They said Lin Jinshen personally went to Su Shi for Sister Shen. Their relationship must be special. Even though Sister Shen is talented, Jincheng Group has a lot of talent, and I've never seen Lin Jinshen treat anyone else like this," Su Yiqing continued.
Lin Jinshen was taking Shen Mianyin around the venue, also to let others know that she had now joined Jincheng Group.

"She’s here? I haven’t seen her," Father Su said, his face darkening.
Mother Su immediately scanned the room but saw no sign of Shen Mianyin.
"Who knows where she went," President Zhao said, glancing around the room without spotting her. He then took out the business card Shen Mianyin had given him earlier.
"She just handed me her card a moment ago. She was doing so well at Su Corporation; why did she suddenly move to Jincheng?"
Father Su, not wanting people to think the Su family had turned its back on their adopted daughter after reuniting with their biological one, forced a smile and said,
"After the recent changes, the child was a bit overwhelmed. She felt uncomfortable staying at the company, no matter how much I tried to persuade her."
President Zhao chuckled and said, "So that's how it is. I was wondering, since even with the shift in identity, Shen Mianyin’s professional skills are undeniable. There’s no reason for her to resign. But no worries—once she figures things out, she’ll surely return to Su Corporation."
Father Su forced a hollow laugh. “He he.”
After coming out of the restroom, Shen Mianyin felt much more clear-headed. However, after only a few steps, someone suddenly grabbed her.
She was yanked forcefully into a nearby corner. Just as she was about to cry for help, she heard Gu Luo’an’s voice.
“What’s your relationship with Lin Jinshen?”
Only then did Shen Mianyin realize it was Gu Luo’an who had grabbed her.
“What does that have to do with you?” she snapped, frowning in pain from his grip. “Gu Luo’an, you’re hurting me!”
Gu Luo’an’s heart tightened, and he loosened his grip slightly, but he still didn’t let go. “You’re so insistent on breaking off the engagement with me—is it because of Lin Jinshen?”
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Shen Mianyin shot back. Lin Jinshen had helped her, and she couldn’t let him be wrongly accused or dragged into trouble with someone like Gu Luo’an. “President Lin and I have a simple superior-subordinate relationship. Stop using your filthy thoughts to speculate about me.”
